32" Yak-55

This aerobatic plane was designed by Leadfeather from RcGroups. The idea behind the design was to have something that flys like one of the depron yaks but has the durability of EPP. Well he succeded. This plane has really been a sensation. Everyone who flys it loves it.

  • These kits have been made avilable with the permission and support of LEADFEATHER.
  • The kit consists of all the foam pieces precut.
  • The parts are cut on a CNC waterjet cutter and have alignment tabs for even easier building.
  • All of the control surfaces come prebeveled.
  • The wing spar slot is precut into the bottom of the wing and will accomidate a 3mm, 1/8" or 4mm carbon tube spar.
  • There are two options for the ailerons. (1) The "outdoor" version has no aileron counter balances. (2) The "indoor" version has aileron counter balances for a better roll rate at a slower speed.

  • 1 - 4mm carbon tube spar
  • 1 - 1.5mm carbon rod for pushrods and elevator stiffener
  • 2 - .032 wire for ailerons.
  • 6 - .032 wire z-bend w/ heatshrink for pushrods.

"Standard" foam is a density of 1.3 lb/ft^3. It is what most prople order and makes a good all around plane.

"Beefy" foam is a density of 1.5 lb/ft^3. It is about 10 grams heavier than a Standard kit but the foam is stiffer givving better control response and less foam twist so it handles wind better.

"Fluffy" foam is a density of 1.1 lb/ft^3. It is about 10 grams lighter than a Standard kit. If you want an ultimate lightweight indoor Yak then this kit along with some light weight components will get you there.
